The Municipality of Moerdijk recognizes the great importance of informal caregivers! Therefore, as a token of appreciation, the informal care appreciation voucher has been created. This voucher is intended for informal caregivers who provide long-term, intensive and unpaid care for a loved one who lives in the municipality of Moerdijk. It is therefore important that the person for whom you care -the caretaker- lives in the municipality of Moerdijk. Also young family caregivers (younger than 24 years) are eligible.  

• The appreciation voucher has a value of €35 per caregiver. 

• The municipality shall establish a maximum amount of €140 per caregiver available. This means that a maximum of 4 family caregivers per caregiver can be registered.  

• The appreciation voucher (Gift certificate Moerdijk) can be spent at various local entrepreneurs in the municipality of Moerdijk. Which ones these are can be found in the booklet that will be issued with the appreciation voucher from March 2026.  

Applications and shipping 

• The caregiver can apply for the appreciation themselves and indicate who the caregiver is. 

• A maximum of 4 appreciation vouchers per address can be requested. 

• The appreciation voucher can be from Nov. 10, 2025 to Feb. 10 2026 be requested 

• You will automatically receive a confirmation after the application. Please read and keep it carefully. 

• The closing date for applying for the appreciation voucher is Feb. 10, 2026. After this date, all applications will be reviewed and processed. 

• After verifying the applications, the receipts will be mailed to you in March 2026.  

• The informal care appreciation should every year be reapplied for, because the informal care situation may change. Even if you are already registered as a volunteer caregiver with mantelzorg moerdijk, you will not automatically receive an appreciation voucher.  

• When you apply for the informal care appreciation, you will be registered as an informal caregiver with Mantelzorg Moerdijk. With that you will also receive our newsletter. Through this newsletter you will receive, among other things, updates about the volunteer care appreciation.  

Conditions of application  

You are eligible for an appreciation voucher if: 

• You provide long-term, intensive and unpaid care and/or support to a neighbor- the caregiver- from your area who has a long-term illness, disability or needs help. This could be, for example, a partner, parent, child, neighbor or close friend. Young family caregivers (under the age of 24) are also eligible. 

• The caregiver (the person you care for) in the municipality of Moerdijk lives. A maximum of 4 appreciation vouchers can be requested per caregiver and address. 

• The care you provide is more than the usual help. Usual care is the help that can reasonably be expected from partners, parents, live-in children or other housemates. Examples include the care and upbringing of healthy children, babysitting healthy grandchildren, caring for a sick partner for a few days, or helping in the household when someone has temporary physical symptoms. Informal care is more than that. It is more intense, takes longer and requires more of you as a caregiver.

• You or the caregiver may be contacted with questions or ambiguities. 

• Appreciation vouchers will be awarded while supplies last. 

• Mantelzorg Moerdijk (part of Surplus) handles the administrative processing on behalf of the Municipality of Moerdijk. 

Need help applying for informal care appreciation? 

Applying for informal care appreciation can sometimes be difficult, especially if you are not familiar with the Internet or do not have a smartphone, laptop, tablet or computer.  

• Ask someone close to you for help

You don't have to do it alone. Perhaps a family member, neighbor or acquaintance can help you fill out the application. Often it can be arranged in no time if you take a look together.

• Stop by or call us during the consultation hours of Moerdijk for Each Other 

You can walk in without an appointment at one of the consultation hours of Moerdijk for each other. Here you will receive free assistance in applying for the informal care appreciation. Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon
Location: Fendertshof, Kerkring 21 in Fijnaart. Employees of Moerdijk voor Elkaar are present in the central hall. 

Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Town Hall Zevenbergen, Pastoor van Kessellaan 15. Again, employees of Moerdijk voor Elkaar are visibly present in the hall.
