Dementia and (n)u for family caregivers (VOL)
Dementia is more than just forgetting. The program Dementia and Now supports family caregivers (often children or partners) in understanding dementia and coping with the daily challenges it brings.
At 6 weekly meetings, with a district nurse present each time, we cover topics such as: understanding changing behavior and perceptions, dealing with care, communication, control issues, safety and self-care. There is also a return meeting to share experiences and discuss questions. The psycho-education package is an initiative of Into D'mentia, Expertise Center Flanders and Alzheimer Liga Vlaanderen.
The course is offered by Surplus and is free for family caregivers from the Municipality of Moerdijk.
De eerstvolgende groep start op woensdag 4 maart en is inmiddels vol.
